In January, I installed (and two professional a/c guys inspected) two programmable thermostats in our house. Downstairs is heated with gas and upstairs is all electric. This week we received our first utility bills since the installation. And the news is (drum roll, please) .... THEY WORK!! Our gas bill was down 30% and our electric bill down 33%. The weather has been pretty much the same, so I believe it is pretty accurate.
It's great when something you do actually works out the way it's supposed to. But it's even greater when you save money doing it!
